Tamiya 31314 1/700 Waterline Japanese Agano Light Cruiser
Light cruisers had the important role of being destroyer flotilla leaders, coordinating their unit's torpedo attacks while making attacks themselves. In 1939, a new class of such flotilla leaders was created under the Fourth Fleet Replenishment Plan, and this is a model of the Agano, the lead ship of her namesake class which served throughout the Pacific until she was sunk by a U.S. submarine in the waters off of Truk.
This kit depicts the ship as she appeared upon her completion in 1942, and accurately reproduces the balanced design including her masts and twin 15cm gun turrets.
